In the election last September, Swedes were offered a relief from sky-rocketing energy prices. Conservative leader Ulf Kristersson promised it would arrive well before Christmas.
Christmas came late this year. Most Swedes got their money just a couple of weeks ago. Some still haven’t got it.
For some people though, energy subsidies has been a nice addition to their private economies. Especially for those who just got hundreds of thousands SEK in cash from the state - more than ten thousand dollars or euros.
